OMG! Dormanstown of all places. I think I remember helping out at a by-election there back in the late 70s. Never have described it as promising territory. So well done guys!

That's a fantastic result. Well done!

In retrospect, it must have been more like 1984 that I helped out in the by-election.

Far be it for me to have ANY sympathy for Labour but are Liberals Tories East Cleveland all in effect one party now in Redcar and Cleveland ?
Never a word against one another seems to be said - when surely each party has their own policies which will differ from others?
You will say it is a sign of diferent parties being able to work together but that clearly won't include Labour so you are all in effect one party
Please let me say well done for winning the by election and once again confirm I have no desire to praise Labour at all

I remember the by-election in 1984 DC. I think Stan Wilson was our candidate. Glynis and I had just recently moved here then.

We are not one party anonymous, far from it. We make up the opposition on the Council and work together on issues that we can agree on because it is more effective that way.

We fight the Conservatives in elections but in Redcar Constituency it is the Liberal Democrats that have made the bigger impact against Labour. We have work to do in Middlesbrough South and East Cleveland Constituency and we will get on with it in due course.
