Well done everyone on what is an absolutely stunning result.

There is a comment from a lady on Jonathan Wallace's blog in relation to Chris and Glynis' comments on Redcar, Yorkshire. I can't see any information on your blog relating to any campaigns for Cleveland to be abolished as a county, retirning to the traditional counties. I think it should, considering Cleveland County Council has long been gone, as has Tyne and Wear.

    Regards

    Cllr Chris Ord
    Whickham North Ward
    Gateshead Council

  3. The Local Government Act 1992 abolished both Cleveland County Council and the county of Cleveland on the 1st April 1996 Chris.
